I spent the afternoon and evening making the final piece in the dash. I put the upper dash mold pieces together with clecos. I then proceeded to make the piece using the same process as all the other fiberglass pieces.

(more...)I trimmed the excess fiberglass from the mold. I then took a grinder and cleaned up the cut edges.
Before I removed the mold pieces from the plug. I drilled 1/8 inch holes that will be used to put the mold pieces together with clecos.

(more...)I continued working on the shaping of the area around the instrument panel. I was able to get the shape and details that I wanted. I then put on a coat of primer and reinstalled it to check the look.

(more...)I worked on applying some 3M HSRF to to the front and bottom edges to even the thickness on the front edges. After applying I sanded it flat.
(more...)I used the molds that I made and built the instrument panel surround and steering column cover final pieces. The third piece is just a flat piece of fiberglass that will become the mount for the steering column cover. I just used a piece of board and waxed it.
