DS Foot Box Exhaust Shield
My next task was to install the stainless steel exhaust shields. I started with the drivers side foot box. I clamped the shield in place. I had to grind done some welds on the bottom of the steel tubes so it would sit flush. I then drilled the holes in the steel. I then used clecos to hold it in place.
After installing the shield, I noticed that I had to make some changes. The first change was to add some 3/4″ x 3/4″ steel tube to the front bottom corner of the foot box. This fills in a space between the frame and exhaust shield. It will also give something to secure the panel. The other change was to mark and trim both the exhaust shield and the aluminum where they meet at the front corner.
